Return to Paradise (1998 film)

I was watching this movie the other day on HBO "Return to Paradise" and it touched the emotional chord... I dont watch stories with sad endings or the one's that leave you wondering what happened later even though I like them - I guess I dont like the fact that I get so much into the movie and at the end of it my eyes are swollen and my nose red :-) This movie is a must watch - for one Vince Vaughn looks great, and the other it reinforces the belief that there is humanity and there are people with emotions and affection for others. Though the cynical me says it was only a movie and is always far from reality, but for now I'll believe the message is true and exists among us.

The story is about 3 friends who are on a pleasure trip to Malaysia. While two friends return back to New York the third decides to travel on and is arrested for the possession of the drugs the three had purchased. The two friends must now return to serve their share of sentence or else their friend will be hung in 8 days. Read the plot on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_to_Paradise_(1998_film).

A walk in the past..

Have you ever felt like life took a giant leap and then just stopped. Now you're stuck between the leap and not sure whether you're gonna fall or finally reach the other end. Right now I feel just that way and my fingers itch to do a fast forward to reach the end. I look at everything around me hoping for a sign but I realise am not the shepherd of the Alchemist. So i'm gonna sit here bored in office keying on waiting for something to happen. . sigh... Am staring out of my window see the line of trees.. The shadow of the sky. It looks like its gonna rain.. Mumbai aint that great when its raining but today looks like a good day. A day to be out walking in the rain.i miss my time in Delhi the walk to Grover's for lunch. The buttered aloo paranthas with mazaa. And of course the steward who spoke a language only he could understand and the uncle who loved to just stare at us.. :-) I guess you stop so you have some time to remember and smile about the past. .

MBA makes us intelligent??

Was speaking to my friend today.. and he asked me why I would want to write something as crappy as that... 'Practicing' I said, learning to write till I get down to writing my novel. 'No one's gonna read it' was his prompt reply. So much for feedback :-(
'Well no one wants to read sad stories. We have enough of trouble in our. So you gotta think of something nice to tell. '

Ok so here's a start and I am hitting my head trying to recall a nice funny story... eh.. never knew it would be so difficult. We tend to remember all the sad, lonely type of stories so well.... guess some days are just like that.
But yeah I remember this one incident, and my close friends would have heard this from me a a lot of time... Its about one happy surdy we hired from FMS. No offence meant.. some of my good friends are surds... We'd hired this entire batch of MAs and on day 1 they were completing their joining formalities. Well each of them had to paste their photograph on the appln form and we seemed to be running short of gluestick.. so my boss to keep track made an announcement "Just so we know please write your names behind the photograph when submitting the form." Our dude was over enthusiastic, he walked up to my boss and with the most innocent look on his face asked, "I've pasted my photograph on the form, I forgot to write my name, do you suggest I take it off and write my name again?" :-) .. ‘ O' mey keya balle balle!!!’

Btw this surdy went on to be the best performing sales manager for our company…
